Blog assignment 3

I chose to read the book "The evolution of the human head" by Daniel E. Lieberman. This book is made to describe the different functions of the human head and brain and why is has evolved this way . The conclusion the author makes is based on the evolutionary theory.

I think the book was interesting and it’s about a topic that is discussed all too rarely. It is interesting to read these kinds of books when you learn something from them. One thing that strikes me when I read this book is thatthese very important facts here are based on very few individuals work. There are lots of people who earn Ph.D.in all sorts of uninteresting and worthless subjects but this subject that truly serves the whole of humanity is therevery few who do. What matters most to us, do we know almost nothing about.

Blog assignment 2 - the story of stuff

My first impression when I saw the clip was: FFS not one of those Al Gore-wannabe vegetarians, who just blame everything on America, and thinks that the only problem is the economic system, which is according to them "forcing" people to buy new stuffs while they themselves spends every last penny on new Greenpeace jackets, and also thinks that if the companies would be more government controlled all environmental problem would be solved.

But after a while I realized that she was not one of those, but rather that she is fairly right in a lot of what she is saying, unlike many other environmental debaters. I must say that I'm pretty sick of all the environmental bullcrap and how journalists and commentators, who do not have a clue of what they’re talking about, competing in being most politically correct.

To tackle the environmental problem for real, I think it is time to stop engaging in projects such as “Earth Hour” and instead take decisions like increased support for nuclear power development.

Blog assignment 1

This post is a review of the article: http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,1531312,00.html
First of all I think it is important to make a different between work and private life. What you do at home in your private life is completely your own business, but at work you are paid to do a specific task. If I were to employ people to do a work, I would not accept them to deal with private life while being paid. Therefore I think it´s a nice tool to control what the employees do and keep working.
But when it´s come to private life I think the opportunities to “spy” is a threat to private premises. What you do outside the work should not make any difference if you do your work properly.  But of course there are excepts and you can misuse your position in the company by doing inappropriate activities in your private life.
The conclusion I make from the article is that one must be aware of the fact that what you´re doing on the net is not a secret.
